
Nicosia is the one and only divided capital on the continent. We will pay a visit to the handicraft centre where you can see the traditional way that some products were being produced during the ancient times. Then, we will continue our tour passing by the Green Line, the line that divides the capital into two parts. Our tour will then continue to the famous Venetian Walls that where built during the 16th century, we will pass through the Famagusta Gate, the Liberty monument and the statue of Archbishop Makarios.
We will then visit the St. John Cathedral which was founded in the 17th century and the Byzantine museum that houses icons from the 8th to 19th century. Some free time will be given to stroll around Laiki Yitonia, an area within the old part of Nicosia which was renovated. There you can find a lot of shops and restaurants that are serving local traditional food. The excursion ends up with a visit to a traditional village called Lefkara that is very famous for its embroideries, lace and silverware..
